A cash credit or overdraft is a running limit the bank reviews every year — unlike a term loan you simply repay. For limits of ₹5 crore and above, missing papers at renewal can shrink or stop the limit. This page is the renewal checklist.
A term loan is approved, paid out and repaid on a schedule. A cash credit or overdraft limit is different: it is a running limit that the bank checks again every year and watches every month. Each stock statement, each month’s money deposited into your account, each overdrawing and each pending approval condition goes into the file the bank officer opens at renewal.
I used to decide working-capital renewals at a bank. A renewal often goes wrong not because the business is weak, but because twelve months of paperwork has drifted — and the renewal note has to record it. This service exists to stop that drift.
Why does a working capital limit need ongoing support?

What does this service cover?
| Area | What we do | Why the bank cares |
|---|---|---|
| Annual renewal | Build the renewal file — audited/provisional financials, CMA data, renewal application, stock and debtor details, compliance status — and track the due date | An expired or late renewal is a warning for the bank and, if it goes on, can make the bank call the loan a bad debt |
| Money-forecast pack (CMA data) | Prepare or review the past, estimated and projected years; reconcile with audited accounts and GST. Draft with the CMA Data Maker (Year 1 free) | Bank officers compare last year’s plans with this year’s actuals before they read anything else |
| Monthly stock & book-debt statements | Set up a format and routine that reconciles with your books; flag aged debtors and slow stock | Drawing power (how much you can draw this month) is calculated from these; stale or inconsistent statements reduce it |
| Stock audit readiness | Prepare records and reconciliations before the bank’s stock auditor visits | Large differences between statements and audit findings damage credibility at renewal |
| Meeting bank approval rules | Track every rule before and after the money is paid out: insurance, charge registration, valuation and legal updates, undertakings, and money rules you agreed to follow with the bank | Pending conditions are listed in the renewal note and can delay or condition the renewal |
| Enhancement planning | Decide whether and when to ask for more; size the request on turnover, holding levels and margin | A well-timed, well-supported enhancement is easier than an emergency temporary-extra request |
| Lender liaison | Coordinate with the relationship manager and answer credit queries with you | Quick, complete replies keep the file moving through the credit hierarchy |
How a bank officer reads your account between renewals
The renewal decision is not made in one meeting. It builds from what the bank sees through the year:
- Utilisation. If you barely use the limit, the bank may cut it next year. If you always use it fully or go over, the bank may worry you need more or are stressed. Both get questions.
- Money deposited into your account. If your yearly sales are ₹40 crore but only a small part passes through the cash-credit account, the bank concludes that sales are going elsewhere.
- Drawing power versus limit. A limit that is never backed by full drawing power is effectively smaller than it looks — and may be reduced to match.
- Stock statement discipline. Late submissions, statements that do not reconcile with the balance sheet, or debtors that never age all invite scrutiny.
- Irregularities. Cheque returns, interest not paid on time and overdrawings beyond drawing power feed the bank’s early-warning watch list.
- Sanction conditions. Insurance lapses, unregistered charges or pending valuation reports are noted and carried into the renewal note.
What do we need from you?
- Audited financials (or provisional, if the audit is pending) and the latest GST returns.
- The current sanction letter and any amendment letters.
- Monthly stock and book-debt statements for the past year and the bank’s drawing-power workings, if available — build next month’s pack with the stock statement format for bank and check draw on the free drawing power calculator.
- Account statements of the CC/OD and any other bank accounts.
- The last stock audit report and any bank correspondence on pending conditions.
Where does this fit with our other services?
If you do not yet have a working capital limit, or need a fresh assessment, start with working capital loans and bank promises. If you want to understand the limit-sizing logic first, read how banks assess CC/OD limits. For the renewal itself, the first article in our weekly series explains how a bank checks a working capital renewal and money forecast. Machinery or capex alongside your limit usually needs a separate term facility, and businesses with suitable property collateral can explore secured CC/OD.
We support borrowers across Tamil Nadu — Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai, Salem, Hosur and other districts.
Fees
Working capital is usually a case where the lender does not pay advisors, so you may pay us a fee. We tell you the amount in writing before we start. The fee depends on your limits, banks and the work needed. The bank alone decides renewal, increase, pricing and terms.
