It’s rare to meet someone like Jitu sir. I had the chance to work under him when I started my career as a Credit Manager in Chennai at Kotak Mahindra Bank. Though we worked together for just 11 months, his impact on my learning has been immense.

What I admire the most about him is his unique way of looking at things. For any loan proposal, he wouldn’t just stop at analyzing financials. He would ask me, “If we had this money, would we be able to take the business to the next level?” This completely changed the way I looked at credit – from just numbers to understanding the business potential behind them.

Another thing about Jitu sir is his sharp eye for financial statements. He could scan through and immediately identify if something didn’t add up. It always amazed me how effortlessly he did that. There were times I would analyze cases deeply just to earn his appreciation because his recognition always felt truly meaningful.

For me, he is not just a boss or senior – he is a mentor and one of the gurus who moulded me during the initial days of my career. I will always be grateful for his guidance and wish him all the success and happiness in whatever he chooses to do next.

Jitu used to be credit manager for loan proposals sourced by my team. Highly balanced individual who used to understand business models and requirement of clients in depth and offer out of the box solutions to them. Very good at numbers and structuring deals in line with requirements of clients. We did lot of high value deals together and highly recommend him based on his ability to understand complex requirements of client and outbeat the competition by structuring loan deals in a way that led to quick closures. Jitendra Rathi, is by far the best Sales cum credit manager, I have come across in my entire career and his ability to manage both sales and credit of Business banking is phenomenal and very rare to get a CA to understand the sales aspect and best part is he manages both RM & customer by giving out of the box solutions.
